About Glasgow Sci-Fi Project
Glasgow Sci-Fi Project is an immersive live performance where audiences participate in the preparation and shooting of a sci-fi movie, with our home city providing its locations. Using this premise, we will look at how science infiltrates popular culture and how popular culture has inspired scientists. The key to this examination is the simple question: What will Glasgow be like in the year 2116?
Science fiction has a huge grip on the popular imagination. Perhaps the speed of change in the technologies that govern our contemporary lives is so fast that the future feels like it has arrived already. Sci-Fi feels less far-fetched now; it is not necessarily a fantasy genre, but a means of understanding how our current lifestyles and social structures might play out.
