Myths of the Near Future was part of the jg ballard project 1998 to 2000
The jg ballard project comprised of three performances in three unusual locations, based on three of ballard’s sci-fi stories.
The ‘myths of the near future’ is a fractured psycho/sexual narrative set in a dilapidated and overgrown Kennedy Space Centre. The drained swimming pool is a recurring image through the story, as it is through much of ballard’s work, and the performance was staged in this disused public pool in the Govan area of Glasgow.
