Theo Clinkard (Designer)

Theo is a choreographer, dancer and designer based in Brighton. His design work spans dance, theatre, opera and live art, including numerous collaborations with Stewart Laing for whom he has costumed The Salon Project, acted as associate designer for Peter Grimes, La Boheme, Parserliv and provided movement direction for Ten Plagues. Theo has also designed works for Cryptic, Scottish Dance Theatre, Sydney Dance Company, Bgroup, Bette Bourne, Skanes Dansteater, PROBE, New Art Club, Laila Diallo, Arthur Pita, Dog Kennel Hill, David Hughes Dance and Adrian Howells, for whom he designed the set and costumes for An Audience with Adrienne (UK, Singapore, Tel Aviv and Munich Opera House). Following 17 years dancing with many of the UK most celebrated choreographers,Theo has spent the last 2 years creating his own choreographic work. His creations include Ordinary Courage; a 50 minute work for 6 dancers and piano, Hell Bent; a one-on-two Pepper’s ghost installation, the dance film (v) to leap or skip in an emotional manner, Mûrissant (Ripening) for the graduate year at London Contemporary Dance School, Bow and Arrow for Chrysalis Dance in Galway and the solo work, PILOT. Theo premieres a new double bill of dance works in 2014.
